Liverpool Hope University is offering a new master’s program, “The Beatles, Popular Music and Society,” analyzing music and culture through the Beatles work.
“There have been over 8,000 books about the Beatles but there has never been serious academic study and that is what we are going to address,” said Mike Brocken, who is directing the program at the university, which is in the band’s hometown in northwestern England. -Huffington Post
It’s pretty amazing that one band can inspire an entire university program. And if you want to help inspire future musicians takepart and support the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
