Bobby Jindal Speech Lands With a Thud Posted by Jon Popham on February 25, 2009 at 11:59 pm

There are times when a politician rises to the occasion and shines through sparkling oratory.  And then there was Bobby Jindal’s Republican Response speech last night following President Obama’s address before Congress.  In an era where bipartisanship has been hard to come by, feelings were nearly unanimous across all party lines that the Louisiana Governor’s speech was a clunker and a half.  But don’t take my word for it, check out conservative columnist David Brooks giving his post Jindal analysis on PBS:

In case you  missed the Republican response itself, you can check it out in the following two clips.

Part 1:

Part 2:

According to the media at least, Bobby Jindal had been considered a fast rising star in the GOP with a unique story in American politics being a 37 year old Indian American politician who somehow managed to win the Governorship of a relatively conservatie southern state.  However it looks like the fast rise might be in danger of a quick flameout after last night’s fiasco.

You can takepart in getting the straight dope from the media by checking out Media Matters.
