Not unlike my love for Jack Palance is my love for Lee Marvin.
I mean what would The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence by without Marvin’s evil Liberty Valence?
What would The Big Red One be without The Sergeant?
And of course, What would Paint Your Wagon be without Ben Rumson’s wonderful tune Wandering Star?
I can tell you this, without those things my life would be a lot less rich. And I have a feeling others feel the same. I mean there is a secret society of Lee Marvin fans/look a-likes out there.
So, in honor of Lee Marvin and the message of my favorite film of his, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, takepart with the ACLU to support “the law” and also watch the amazing clip below from Paint Your Wagon (which if you haven’t seen you really should)
“Do I know where Hell is? Hell is in hello. Heaven is goodbye forever, it’s time for me to go”
