It’s time for your Friday Funday Good News that blink-182 is reuniting! Now, all the members of Blink 182 were my Awesome Sunday Vegetarians back in October (named as such for being the eighth month of the year…go figure), though since then, drummer Travis Barker has ceased his vegetarianism to help him recover from his near-death experience in a plane crash. Which seems pretty reasonable. Anyhow, blink is getting back together!!! If you needed reason to be excited about this, check out the last song they ever released:
Amazing. Anyhow, I missed the Grammys, in which blink came together for the first time in four years and said, “We used to play music together, and we decided to play music together once again.” Following that, this message appeared on their official website, where the words “SUMMER 2009″ are proudly on display:
Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.
The last album the band put out was in 2003, and in my opinion, it was far and away their best work. Blink-182 has been on hiatus since 2005, so it’s really exciting to hear they’re coming back. Say what you will about pop-punk and how you thought “All The Small Things” was a ridiculous song, but blink has put out a number of great songs, and I’m looking forward to seeing if they can pick up where they left off.
Get excited. And takepart to learn more about vegetarianism. Now, if we could only do something about Fugazi’s extended hiatus…

Back in the day, September, October, November and December were all named correctly. Then Julius Caesar took a couple of the good months for himself and Augustus, pushing the other months back and not taking the time to re-name. Che sera`, sera`.
Is “back in the day” the appropriate term for around 100 BC? I always kind of assumed “the day” didn’t really go much farther than, say, 1984.
