I never considered myself very romantic. I’ve always cringed at the commercialism of Valentines Day. I used to poo-poo on PDA and pet names. I have been know to insist my beau buy me something practical like a Dust Buster rather than flowers (they’re just going to die anyhoo right? But a Dust Buster, that’s a gift that keeps on giving.) But lately I’ve started to surrender to sentimental sweetness. I actually think heart shaped cakes are cute. I find couples walking down the street holding hands endearing. I’ve even gotten misty eyed at commercials for cheesy romantic comedies. (Shhh, don’t tell anyone that last one). And then this morning I turned on Vh1 and this video from the Plain White T’s just made me melt:
Adorable right? I like that the video not only celebrates romantic love but also friendships love, parental love, and adopted puppy love.
You can actually personalize and dedicate this video to someone by going to The Plain White T’s homepage. Just follow the easy instructions to upload your photos and messages and then send it to someone you love.
And speaking of puppy love, why not takepart and visit the North Shore Animal League America. The NSLA is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world, visit their site to learn about ways to help puppies and/or to adopt one of your own (or one for someone you love).
Damn puppies and love songs I have become a romantic. However I will never want a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a personalized Vermont Teddy Bear. Never.
