Grammys Announce Winners “Despite All My Rage” Posted by Gina Telaroli on February 9, 2009 at 10:22 am

So apparently the Grammys were last night?  I totally missed that somehow - I actually stopped watching or paying attention to the Grammys after 1997 when Beck’s Odelay and The Smashing Pumpkins’ Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness both lost Album of the Year to Celine Dion.

Odelay and Melancholy remain two of my favorite albums of  all time and I just couldn’t forgive the Grammy folks for recognizing Celine Dion over them.

Sigh - but if you do like the Grammys you can see the winners HERE. Be sure to takepart with Save the Music because if we ever want to see quality music at the Grammys our youth need to have access to in in their schools.

Also see below for a video that is representative of how I feel about the Grammys

And go after the jump for more Beck and Smashing Pumpkins videos (including one from the Grammys)

If you sing about issues, most don’t want to hear you. You will be too depressing.
You have to sing about ‘nice’ things to be ‘popular’.
One of my favourites is Bruce Cockburn, who also sings about issues in the real world.
Now that capitalistic America is on its way down the rabbit hole, who knows what will come out of it.
Keep singing, Smashing Pumpkins and Bruce Cockburn!
To heck with the grammys.
They are just fluff!
I want real stuff!

PS I didn’t see them either but I heard one other hero of mine was there - Sir Paul!
Thanks for all these videos!!
I love the Smashing Pumpkins!!
