The Grammys may award more than a little statue to M.I.A. who is expected to give birth at any minute, and she still plans to perform her nominated song Paper Planes. If you’re watching on the East Coast, then you may have see the super pregnant singer stroll down the red carpet.  Paper Planes, which is up for Record of the Year, has been covered by everyone from Lil’ Wayne to DFA, but no one on the corner has swagger like M.I.A. And while I think the song technically came out last year, it was given new life when it appeared on the soundtrack to Slumdog Millionare. As many time as I’ve heard it, I still love it and hope it wins. If her kid arrives while she’s at the Grammy’s it will probably dance with her on stage. That’s how cool that kid is going to be. And for you enjoyment, here is the original version of Paper Planes:
Good Luck M.I.A!
