Sigh, I kind of adore the films of Michael Mann.  Even though they are often quite misogynistic, they are also some of the best male melodramas I have ever seen.  Also, he is the director of my favorite all time pick-me-up movie The Last of the Mohicans, which has one of the best ending sequences of all time.

And because Mr. Mann also directed a film called Heat (which also has an amazing end scene) takepart to help stop global warming.
