The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has set up an online petition condemning recent comments by conservative commentator/professional bloviator Rush Limbaugh.  During his popular radio program, Limbaugh recently said in no uncertain terms about Barack Obama as President of the United States and his proposals to reinvigorate the economy, “I hope he fails.”

Remember back during Bush Administration, how countless times when progressive voices across the country dared question any move the President made they were condemned as UnAmerican by people like, oh, let’s see, Rush Limbaugh? Not hoping Bush would fail, simply saying something he did was not right.   Apparently when the shoe is on the other foot, patriotism and love of country go flying at light speed out the window of Rush’s Florida studio.  To this petty, angry man the narrow interest of being right is much more important than actually rooting for the wellbeing of the country which desperately needs Obama to succeed in order to rise above the economic destruction that 28 years of the conservative movement Rush Limbaugh championed on talk radio has brought.  You can check out a clip of the offending comments below:
