Hey, remember all that “Drill, baby, drill” stuff that former VP candidate Sarah Palin was going on about when she was talking about energy policy? Well, apparently, that was only a national plan, because she’s certainly taking Alaska in a different direction. On Friday, Governor Palin announced the goal that by 2025, Alaska will get 50 percent of its electricity from renewable energy.
Hilariously enough, the headline for the story in the Juneau Empire reads as such: Palin releases energy ‘plan’. It’s funny, see, because her plan doesn’t actually have many specifics. But environmentalists are still happy with the announcement.
It won quick praise from environmental groups for its call for shifting from fossil fuels to renewable sources, such as wind, hydro, tidal and geothermal, but Palin and energy advisor Steven Haagenson also revealed that the plan isn’t actually a plan for action. Instead, it is a list of resources on which local communities may use to develop their own solutions.
Well, local action (as opposed to state-level) is in line with a Conservative mindset. Haha, remember when George W. Bush talked about limiting government’s power? Yeah, he didn’t do that. Gov. Palin also announced that “Most of the cost would have to be borne by local ratepayers…but the government may be able to provide some help with loans and grants.”
We’ll stay cautiously optimistic that this is another unexpected politician hopping on board with renewable energy. If you’re thinking of trying to locally create some renewable energy sources, takepart and find out if any monetary incentives are available to you from the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency.

Absolutely! There is NO PLAN! Palin wasn´t invited to the pretty Washington parties that everyother Republican big wig attended, so now Palin has changed her tune! About Obama, about bipartisanship and about ENERGY. She is nothing if not a quick study, and an opportunist. She will go which ever way the wind blows…all those open mics she missed have made her re-access.
Palin treats her family as PROPS, her staunch followers are no more important to her and her ambitions.
