Bush’s Environmental Legacy Examined: ITOTD Posted by Danny Jensen on January 17, 2009 at 12:04 am

If only George W. Bush’s environmental record were as hilarious as Will Ferrell’s impressions of the man; instead his green legacy is decidedly brown and unfunny.  The Guardian takes a sobering look at the last eight years, in which Bush managed to take the expression “Man vs. Nature”  to epicly tragic levels.  Josh Dorner, a spokesman for the Sierra Club does not mince words:

The Bush administration has introduced this pervasive rot into the federal government which has undermined the rule of law, undermined science, undermined basic competence and rendered government agencies unable to do their most basic function even if they wanted to. We’re excited just to push the reset button.

The Guardian goes on to list some of Bush’s heinous environmental blunders, such as:

• Gutting key sections of the Clean Water and Clean Air acts

• Dismantling the protections of the Endangered Species Act

• Opening millions of acres of wilderness to mining, oil and gas drilling, and logging

• Defunding programmes charged with the clean-up of toxic industrial wastes such as arsenic, lead and mercury

• Reducing the enforcement effort in the Environmental Protection Agency

• Removing grizzly bears and wolves from the endangered species list

• Endorsing commercial whaling

• Approving mountain-top removal for coal mining

And, as you know from reading Take Part, the list goes on…

So, as Andy suggested, takepart by telling Obama that you want improvements you hope to see by adding them to the Citizen’s Briefing Book.

Bush was no leader, just a puppet for manipulators who have been misusing everything and everyone for their own power trips probably since the inquisition when Europeans exploded into Africa, Asia, Australia and the America’s on a quest to sell their idea of god.

All the above ‘blunders’ attributed to Bush helped these manipulators make more money and abuse more people while leading us to the end of the world which was predicted in Revelations.

Who are these maniacs?
Obama needs to know.

I believe that the world is a worse place because of the practices of the executive branches of the recent past & the Friedman economic advice practiced. There needs to be some some lawful behavior that the executive branch must honor & ultimately be fully responsible for the repercussions of the decisions made, not like how it is currently.
