Citizen’s Briefing Book to be Delivered to President Obama After Inauguration Posted by Andy Kondrat on January 16, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Well, President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration is only four days away. I have friends who have gotten tickets to the event, and I am jealous. But let’s be honest - for all the hoopla surrounding the swearing-in ceremony, I’m pretty sure that those of us that have been looking forward to this to happen are more excited for what Obama’s going to do as soon as he sits down at his presidential desk. We know he wants to immediately sign an order to close Gitmo, but what else is he going to tackle immediately?

Well, why don’t you tell Barack Obama what you think is important for him to focus on? Doesn’t that seem reasonable? Change.gov seems to think so. The good people at Obama’s transition team have set up what they’re calling the Citizen’s Briefing Book. What does that mean, exactly? They’ll tell you!

Share your ideas on any issue facing the new administration, then rate or comment on other ideas. The best rated ideas will be gathered into a Citizen’s Briefing Book to be delivered to President Obama after he is sworn in.

You can comment specifically on any issue you think is most important - economy, environment, homeland security, so forth and so on. And, whatever is thought to be the most important, Barack Obama will read about soon after he becomes our president. It’s just like a real democracy at work!

So takepart and get started by contributing to the Citizen’s Briefing Book, and let Obama know what you’d like him to focus on after he gets sworn in January 20th.

Also, pretty awesome that Change.gov is using Creative Commons licenses for all the content on the site, allowing me to use the image seen above, from their website.

Please use your facilities, or permit me to do so, to encourage viewers to vote for including an idea in the Citizens Briefing Book which will go to President-elect Obama shortly after his inauguration this coming Tuesday. The idea, titled Highroad USA, is about a green project to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs, end foreign oil’s political dominance, decimate the annual slaughter on our nation’s highways, and more. Best part: private investors can pick up part or all of the tab.
