Climate Change Outpaces Predictions: ITOTD Posted by Danny Jensen on January 14, 2009 at 9:04 pm

It would come as great news if climate change skeptics were right in saying our situation isn’t as dire as many of us think, but sadly the reports that our climate is shifting keep rolling in.   And according to the World Watch Institute, the science of climate change is evolving more rapidly than those reports can be published.  As the ice caps show evidence of accelerated melting, the world’s leading climate scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change consider the “master risk”  of climate change to be sea-level rise.  The World Watch warns:

The IPCC also predicted that melting alpine glaciers and evaporating snow cover would accelerate during the 21st century. As a result, many regions will likely experience a decline in freshwater resources and hydropower potential, with redirected seasonal water flows, the report said.

Frightening stuff.  Hopefully President-Elect Obama makes addressing the problems surrounding climate change a top priority as has been suggested.

takepart by helping to solve the climate crisis and let Obama know it’s one of your top priorities.
