Artist Shepard Fairey is not only busy designing for Barack Obama these days, he’s also just completed artwork for Mutts Like Me to benefit AdoptaPet.com. But there are still a few Obama tie ins. For one, as you can see at left, the design bears a striking thematic resemblance to some posters you might have seen during last year’s Presidential campaign. Add to this that the name of the campaign “Mutts Like Me” is a quote of President-Elect Obama casually referring to the dogs in an animal shelter where he said his family would prefer to adopt from and you can see a bit of a pattern developing.
On a personal note, my wife and I just submitted an application to our local animal shelter for a beautiful puppy this very afternoon, so this is one story I just had to write. I can tell you firsthand that there are some great animals at the pound just looking for a nice family and a nice home. You can takepart in helping out our furry friends at animal shelters across the country by logging onto Adoptapet.com.
