When I was little I would arrange meticulously arrange my stuffed animals around me before bed, saying goodnight to each one, so I know how important the toys can be for a kid, which is why I think the Cuddle Buddies program is so fantastic. Cuddle Buddies began as a high school students community service project and has expanded to become an international program that distributes donated stuffed animals to children in need. Working with non-profit agencies, the animals are given to kids both here in the U.S., as well as Kenya and Zimbabwe.
So, this holiday season takepart by donating lightly used stuffed animals to Cuddle Buddies or start collecting donations in your neighborhood. You’ll help brighten the spirits of a child and keep a stuffed animal from heading to a landfill.
