TRU Organic Vodka Plants a Tree for Every Bottle You Buy Posted by Andy Kondrat on December 1, 2008 at 8:37 am

Oh, this is fun, being stuck at JFK airport in New York, forever.  It makes you want to grab a drink, but it turns out it’s 8:30 in the morning, so why don’t we just write about drinks, instead?  Seems more reasonable.

So I’ll bring you the exciting news that if you’re going to drink vodka (or use it for any other number of pretty impressive reasons), you might as well drink TRU Organic Vodka.  “But why?”  Well, I’ll tell you.  You might as well drink TRU Organic Vodka because treehugger passes along the news that for every bottle you buy, TRU will plant one tree.  So, let’s do the math.  1 bottle of vodka = 1 tree.  2 bottles of vodka = 2 trees.

You know what?  My math isn’t so great.  Take it away, treehugger:

According to TRU Organic, if you buy six cases for a party, that’s 36 trees. Thirty six trees can remove up to 1,800 pounds of CO2 from the atmosphere each year when mature, the equivalent of two months of average driving!

The company does other organic-type things as well - lots of them, in fact.  I don’t want to steal all their thunder, so takepart and visit their ecology page to learn more about what TRU does to help the environment, as well as your spirits.

See what I did there?  Spirits?  Because of good cheer…and how alcohol is called spirits…and the drinking…and the like…and…never mind.  I apologize.  Sigh.
