This is probably my tenth post regarding my love/hate for Facebook. I should just cancel my account to avoid the juvenile drama that it creates however it is a great networking tool for my career. But sometimes I want to punch Facebook in the face. It’s the ultimate in TMI. I mean, does everyone have to say how the really feel in their status? Some of that stuff seems way to personal to put on cyber blast. Then I feel like everyone’s parents are suddenly signing up for Facebook accounts. (Sorry but I don’t want to get “poked” by my best friends 67 year old dad.) And if you’re dating or worse, going thru a break-up, Facebook does an excellent job of shoving all of your new boyfriend/girlfriend/ex boyfriend/girlfriends business in from of your eyes.
I loved this recent piece in the Boston Globe about Facebook’s creepiness as it relates to matters of the heart.
But as I said, Facebook is great for networking and it has done great things for social change networking.
