I was able to see The Wrestler at the New York Film Festival this year and I have to say, (not unlike the A Christmas Tale trailer) this trailer is deceptively upbeat:
It definitely touches on what the movie is about, but if you go into it only expecting redemption you may leave feeling like you were sucker punched. The first half of the film is pretty violant in terms of how they display the wrestling, and minus a small middle section where things are going well for Mickey Rourke’s Randy, it isn’t a movie that makes you feel inspired or happy (like the trailer would suggest).
And because The Wrestler is still a movie about redemption and making changes in ones life, takepart to get involved with We Can Solve It and help everyone redeem themselves in terms of what we’ve done to our planet.
