I have a tendency to misplace small items, which inevitibly turn up in obvious places. But something tells me the tool bag lost by Astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper won’t be turning up any time soon. The bag drifted off into space while spacewalkers were attempting to clean and lube a joint on the international space station. Apparently a grease gun exploded inside the bag, dousing a camera, and while Stefanyshyn-Piper attempted to clean up the mess it slipped out of her hands. And, according to the New York Times, she muttered the classic line of slippery situations:
Oh, great.
If only I had spacewalking to blame for my lost items. It sure would save me a lot of time looking.
takepart by making sure kids learn to hang on to their tools at space camp.
