So I found this picture while searching through shared articles in my Google Reader. I kind of adore it:

“February 27, 1923. “Miss Alice Reighly, 1409 Harvard Street, president of Anti-Flirt Club, which has just been organized in Washington, D.C., and will launch an ‘Anti-Flirt Week’ beginning March 4. The club is composed of young women and girls who have been embarrassed by men in automobiles and on street corners.” National Photo Company Collection glass negative
There are definitely times when I wish I could wear an anti-flirt club button…
Living in New York City is amazing because of all the people but sometimes it can be awful when all of the people think they can just talk to you and say inappropriate things or just uncomfortable things. It really can make one feel awful.
Of course I’ve met some awesome people who just randomly talked to me while I was waiting in line or some such thing - although they usually didn’t try to flirt with me and simply talked to me like a normal person.
Maybe instead of an anti-flirt club there should be a “pro treating women like people club”?
Anyways, the photo rocks and be sure to takepart with the National Organization for Women.
