While getting my coffee yesterday I snagged a post card promoting Starbucks Avant-Grande event with the charming promo line “experience the art beyond the apron.” Avant-Grande is a gala event featuring Visual Art and Spoken Word by Washington, D.C. and New York City area employees. Open to the public, guests will be able to view and purchase the exhibitied artwork (like this beautiful print by E.Warren Zavala). The NYC event will take place on Friday, November 21 at
Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St. NYC. Doors open at 7 p.m.
I love that Starbucks is supporting and showcasing the art of its employees. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if all companies showed off the non-work related talents of their staff? (Ahem, hey there temp agencies, I’d love to host a comedy variety show in the conference room. Actually maybe not.)
For more info on Avant-Grande, to get tickets to the event, or if you’re a Starbucks employee that wants to submit your art work takepart and check out http://starbucksavant-grande.com
