A film I love, by a director I love, starts a one week run today in New York City. Francois Truffaut’s The Wild Child has a new 35mm print that will be screening at Film Forum through November 13th. The film tells the story of feral child found in the woods and the efforts of a doctor to help the child fit into human society. It’s a beautiful film that debates what exactly it means to be human and how exactly we become who we are (socialization or nature).  Also, it is beautifully shot and I can only imagine how amazing the new print is.
Watch the trailer below and if you live in NYC do check it out!
And while you’re at it, takepart to learn more about feral children
