Robert Gibbs Reported to Be Obama White House Press Secretary Posted by Jon Popham on November 6, 2008 at 5:10 pm

Politico reports that Robert Gibbs will be White House Press Secretary in the new Barack Obama administration (man, that feels good to write). Gibbs had functioned as the primary spokesman for Obama throughout his Presidential campaign. So what do we know about the man who could serve as the mouthpiece for this new era in American politics. For one he’s a Southerner, hailing from Auburn, Alabama, and has a pleasant sounding southern drawl, sure to put a down home spin on policy pronouncements. He also seems like a pretty pleasant guy, as evidenced in this contentious interview with Fox NewsSean Hannity on his show Hannity & Colmes, where Gibbs kills the conservative commentator softly, giving him just enough rope to hang himself on his own abundant vitriol. Check it out:

Notice how Gibbs is pleasant and respectful the whole time while his opponent is busy blowing his top after being called out on the quality of guest he’s showcasing on his program? That’s how you handle a blowhard. Gibbs looks to me to be a pitch perfect choice for the new Barack Obama Administration (I just can’t stop writing that).
