Even though the Governor of the state of Alaska hasn’t spoken up, her running mate has. This morning John McCain asked Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens for his resignation. McCain’s statement is below:
Yesterday, Senator Ted Stevens was found guilty of corruption. It is a sign of the health of our democracy that the people continue to hold their representatives to account for improper or illegal conduct, but this verdict is also a sign of the corruption and insider-dealing that has become so pervasive in our nation’s capital.
It is clear that Senator Stevens has broken his trust with the people and that he should now step down. I hope that my colleagues in the Senate will be spurred by these events to redouble their efforts to end this kind of corruption once and for all.
I find it interesting that the “reformer”, the woman who “cleaned up corruption in Alaska hasn’t said anything. If Sarah Palin was a corruption cleaner and a reformer and someone who wanted to take the greed out of Washington, she probably should have been the first person to say something. Don’t you think?
Why so quiet Sarah Palin?
Maybe it’s because she’s gone rogue.

http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/10/28/gop-ticket-calls-for-stevens-resignation/
Looks like it took just over three hours for Sarah Palin to wilt to the unbelievable pressure of this little rant and FINALLY come forward with a call for Ted Stevens to resign.
There are enough reasons to oppose Sarah Palin’s election as this country’s vice president. We need not manufacture another simply because she allowed the guy at the top of the ticket–ya know, the one who would be president–to speak on the matter first. How soon would have been acceptable for her to comment? Ten minutes? Five minutes?
