This is perhaps one of the worst trailers I have ever seen, based on the fact that I’ve seen A Christmas Tale and the trailer in no way represents how I felt while watching the film. I also think anyone who goes to see the film based on the trailer will be confused by the film that they are shown:
A Christmas Tale does contain some aspects of that trailer but overall the film is much darker and contains some very non-traditional narrative elements. It is a beautiful, complex film, and it makes me sad to see it boiled down to a Christmas feel good film.Â
But don’t just take my word for it, takepart and read a review from online critic Acquarello about the film and see if it matches the trailer above.
