Ted Stevens, the longest serving Republican in the Senate’s entire history was found guilty of violating ethics laws because he took gifts from friends and didn’t report them. The gifts totaled quite a hefty sun, the remodeling of his house alone totaled in the tens of thousands of dollars. Â The Democratic Party in Alaska has asked Stevens to step down, although some expect he’ll appeal and look to George W. Bush for a pardon.

Also, takepart to look back at some hilarious and awesome TakePart coverage of Stevens from back in July when he was indicted.
