Last week I wrote about Scott James’ admirable company Fair Trade Sports, and as it turns out, Scott informs me, his other day job is helping to end modern day slavery with his organization Not For Sale.  I’m not sure when Scott sleeps, but I am sure the 27 million people who are currently enslaved around the world are thankful for his efforts.  Not For Sale seeks to organize “students, entrepreneurs, artists, people of faith, athletes, law enforcement officers, politicians, social workers, skilled professionals, and all justice seekers” to educate the public and mobilize an international abolitionist movement.  By implementing “open source activism” the organization encourages individuals to contribute whatever skills, time and resources they have to put an end to the global slave trade.
Slavery is not just an atrocity of the past, but a horrible reality for so many people around the world right now.
takepart by joining Not For Sale and put an end to slavery.
