VP Debate 08, Let the Controversy Begin! Posted by Gina Telaroli on October 1, 2008 at 10:12 pm

So apparently there is some hubbub on the internet about the VP debate concerning the moderator for tomorrow night, PBS’s Gwen Ifill.   Some think McCain might try to push back the VP debate because Gwen Ifill can’t be trusted to be impartial… That load of crap came about because apparently Ifill is writing a book about race and politics and low and behold the book has to do with Barack Obama (wouldn’t a book on that subject have to?)

Despite internet rumors, McCain’s official position is that he trusts Ifil - although I wonder what he’ll say depending on how the debate goes.   Speaking of which, has there ever been a more anticipated debate in VP debate history? There’s a clip below from the 1992 VP debates featuring TakePart hero Al Gore, maybe more interesting than the debate are the awesome 1992 graphics:

And just in case those Gwen Ifill rumblings become more serious, takepart and join the facebook group in favor of the amazing and super professional Gwen Ifill and also takepart again to demand the debate tomorrow!

The Republican Candidate for VP is an embarrassment. McCain obviously tried to upstage the Democrats by finding a woman for his ticket, unfortunately a wrong one. No mater how much she is being coached over the last few days, viewing Russia from her window will not get her to see beyond her own little world. We have witnessed how powerful was Dick Cheney as VP, we DO NOT want a light headed person, man or a woman, to be a heart-beat from a potential 72-year old president.
