Open Mic Reveals Right-Leaning Journalists Real Views Posted by Jon Popham on September 4, 2008 at 10:58 am

An open microphone on MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention caught two generally right-leaning journalists dissing the GOP VP pick.   Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan was recorded badmouthing the Palin nomination with MSNBC contributor and former aide to none other than John McCain himself Mike Murphy. The exchange features Murphy noting the pick of Palin was “not gonna work”, to which Noonan replies “It’s over.”  Noonan later calls the selection the type of “political bulls***” that Republicans are not good at.

The glimpse into the unfiltered opinions of these political reporters exposed a glaring hypocrisy as Noonan herself  wrote a column in the yesterday’s Wall Street Journal touting Palin as a “clear and present danger to the American left” (a column she has now topped off with her take on the open mic gaffe).   You can hear the open mic Whoops-a-daisy! (the offending portion of which occurs after they go to commercial from the regular broadcast) on the YouTube clip below:
