A Democratic National Convention Back In The Day Posted by Gina Telaroli on August 26, 2008 at 11:02 am

The Library of Congress Flickr account (which I told you about back in January) has added some great pictures that look to be from a National Democratic Convention sometime between 1910-1915.

After seeing the sparkle and glitz of the DNC last night, it’s kind of humbling to look at these photos..

takepart to explore the Library of Congress’s website. Also, the great thing about the above photos is that there is no copyright - meaning I can post them here on the TakePart blog - which is awesome. In that spirit, takepart to learn more about Creative Commons, a group working to make sure we can continue to share the things that make this world great.

Dear Sen. Obama: I have been a registered REPUBLICAN all of my adult life. However, I have been listening to your comments, etc., over the past several months and am attracted to your aims of changing the national direction and I had mostly made up my mind to vote for YOU.

BUT, when you selected Joe Biden as your running mate, my whole trust in you dropped to ZERO. Did Sen. Biden tell you about his life as a law student at Syracuse University many years ago??? Probably now, or you would not have nominated him as Vice Pres. Joe Biden was dishonest and cheated his way through Law School. What does that tell you about his integrity. He has none!!!! and I will NOT be voting the Democratic ticket. What he did is a matter of record. I was there in Syracuse when this all happened. I do not want a “dishonest” Vice President. I am switching my vote back to Sen. McCain.
