Condom Ringtone Blasts Through India

Ringtones bother me. Especially when I get spam mail about them or when folks just sit in public spaces playing them loudly. It’s annoying and there’s no point to it all.
That being said I have to give some credit to BBC World Service Trust for trying to change that. They’re making and marketing by a ring tone that’s more socially aware.
They’ve created a “condom” ringtone in hopes of promoting the usage of condoms and was created specifically for India, where they’ve been working hard to normalize condoms.
The somewhat silly commercial HERE explains it all. It’s a lot more subtle and hopefully more effective than I imagine this campaign was:
