There’s been a lot of buzz about pollution and the Beijing Olympics here at TakePart. Performance concerns and overall sustainability concerns have inspired Olympic athletes to lace up for the environment with GreenLaces, a advocacy group that couples athletics and environmental awareness.

GreenLaces plans to lace up 1000 athletes representing 10 countries at the Beijing Olympics to promote the reduction of our carbon impact on the planet. A partial list of 41 professional and Olympic level athletes who have already laced up green and made the GreenLaces promise to reduce their planetary impact can be viewed here.
