You know how sometimes, you have so many things to say about something, you’re actually rendered speechless? This is one of those times.  Because, you see, to highlight the “pain involved in deforestation,” Harrison Ford went ahead and had his chest waxed.  On Access Hollywood.  With a Spice Girl there to document.  Obviously.  The 65(!)-year old is a dedicated environmentalist, having worked with the group Conservation International for fifteen years.  His hope is that this action shocks people into thinking green.  Which I suppose is a totally logical leap in logic.
Yep.  So.  I thought the first and third Indiana Jones movies were rad (okay, the third one was totally and completely awesome), and The Fugitive introduced the word “hinky” into many a lexicon.  But waxing your chest to highlight deforestation?  I don’t get it.  But though I don’t get it, I certainly applaud it.  Kind of like Bjork.  Of course, this all would have been a ridiculous stunt if there weren’t an experienced reporter there to cover the story.  Like a Brokaw or a Jennings or a Scary Spice.  Thank God Access Hollywood was able to nab one of those big names.  No points for guessing which one.  According to reports, Ford said he felt “naked” following the procedure, which made another Star Wars series actor, Ewan MacGregor, laugh because he’s always actually naked in every movie he’s ever been in ever, and probably also naked in some movies he hasn’t.
Regardless, I think the very least you can do is
and go to the Conservation International website and poke around to learn about the issues they find important. Â And please stop deforestating so Ford doesn’t have to take even more drastic action. Â Lord knows what’s next.
And, for the record, I didn’t look too hard for video of this to provide you with a link. Â I suggest you, too, let this one go.
