Matt Damon Breaks Stuff - For Darfur of Course Posted by Gina Telaroli on April 14, 2008 at 10:14 am

Matt Damon, Thandie Newton and other celebrities all got together recently to break some toys and then have people take pictures of it.

They weren’t participating in some kind of new therapy but were in fact hoping to illustrate the destruction of children in Darfur. April 13th was “Global Day for Darfur.” It also marks the 5 year anniversary of the genocide. This means that for some children, all they have ever known is a life filled with war.

Damon, 37, destroyed a dollhouse with a baseball bat in his shots. “After the genocide in Rwanda we all shook our heads and said never again,” said the actor. “Today, as killings mount in Darfur we need to make never again a priority and demand protection for the most vulnerable.” [People]

Who is running this globe anyway? A bunch of immoral people?
I think, yes.

Go, Matt Damon and friends!
Matt, you are #44 on my list of Many Powerful Men!
We love you!

Here is another political poem I just finished regarding war and hate!

What Have I Been Thinking?

Inspired by What Have I been Drinking
By Tom Lavin and the Powder Blues Band

What have I been thinking? That we should control our drinking.
Some entice us to get stinking; their members surely shrinking.
When something can’t be done, please don’t force my son.
No war is truly won. Why don’t we have more fun!
Girls sold on auction block, at twelve, in Red Bangkok.
“Time is up”, dooms the clock. So love is all I want to talk!
This battle with the very bad is making mothers sorely sad.
Our sons, they make us oh, so glad. Save them or I’ll get scary mad.
It should be such an easy fix, with all man’s colours in the mix.
Please don’t kill us just for kicks! Wait until compassion clicks!
I think we should be cleaning. I have children I am weaning.
What we have has no meaning. Stay the middle! Don’t be leaning!!
All this work and no more play, seems to be a wayward way.
“No more wars!,” see and say. I’ve been thinking, “Save the day!”

Love Lora Bruncke
