Americone Dream, it’s not. Aqua Colbert is a conservationist’s worst nightmare: a bottled water with a carbon footprint that stomps on sustainability and kicks it senseless in its quest to quench America’s insatiable thirst.
Thankfully, unlike Stephen Colbert’s vanilla-fudge-caramel concoction for Ben & Jerry, Aqua Colbert is only a fossil-fueled figment of Colbert’s fevered imagination. With World Water Day coming up tomorrow, March 22nd, Colbert devoted last night’s entire show to the subject of water (Katie blogged earlier about Dean Kamen’s appearance to promote his innovative, life-saving water filtration system.)Â

Watch the faux promo for Aqua Colbert and you’ll see why satire is the most effective weapon when it comes to skewering our wasteful culture. There’s nothing funny about our global water crisis, though, so do go to water.orgÂ
to learn more about World Water Day and what you can do to help those who lack access to safe drinking water.

What the fuck is this crap? I’m serious! I’ve never heard water conservationists make a big deal of the bottle water problem. You guys really need to get your asses and ads out there explaining to the general public how much of an impact it really has, and then start placing ads that make people demand clean drinking water from their city tap, instead of having to buy expensive filters which put many low-income people to a disadvantage.
