Want to do something different to celebrate (or lament) Valentines Day this year? If you live in New York here’s a little list of love related comedy events to get you through till the big day. These shows are sure to tickle your funny bone and your heart whether you attend with the love of your life or with your sexy single self.

February 11th: Shoot the Messenger @ The Green Room Theater (45 Bleecker at LaFayette) 8pm From the mind of Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead comes WAKE UP WORLD, America’s only 6-hour morning show! Half the content, twice the time. And, just in time for Valentine’s Day” and did you know that Feb 10-16 is “Freedom To Marry Week?” Let Shoot The Messenger be your own funny Valentine, as we sit down with Freedom To Marry“Ëœs Founder and Executive Director, and author of Why Marriage Matters, Evan Wolfson!

February 12th: Sweet’s 4th Annual Dating Game Show @ The Slipper Room, 167 Orchard Street. 8:30pm. Join host Seth Herzog with guests Jon Daly, Teddy Goldstein, Max Silvestri, and Nick Stevens as they perform,play the dating game with a group of lucky bachelorettes, and then have a date with them right on stage.

February 13th:Stripped Stories @ Comix 353 W. 14th Street The hit sex-themed storytelling show brought to you by Giulia Rozzi ( yes that’s me, your friendly blogger) and Margot Leitman . Each show features comedians, musicians and guests revealing hysterically honest stories about their sex lives. Giulia and Margot will also each reveal their own juicy stories amidst some games, audience interviews and hookups…hopefully. In honor of Valentines Day this month’s theme is “The Best Sex Ever” with Ophira Eisenberg, DC Benny and musical guests Stuckey & Murray. Get tickets at http://www.comixny.com

February 14th: The Rejection Show’s Valentines Day Heartbreak Haven @ The UCB Theatre 307 W. 26th Street (at 8th Ave) 8pm The cult-favorite live comedy series The Rejection Show and Mortified join forces for an evening of their best breakup, heartbreak and love related performances from shows past —blending into and evening of love song karaoke, live music, DJ, free drinks and partying.
