While accepting her 11th Grammy last night, Alicia Keys encouraged viewers to give $1 to Keep A Child Alive (KCA), a charity providing an urgent response to the AIDS pandemic ravaging Africa.
As the Global Ambassador for KCA, Keys is actively spreading the message about KCA and how they provide comprehensive AIDS care to over 20,000 people living with AIDS; including provision of life-saving AIDS medications, nutritional support and treatment for AIDS-related illnesses. In some cases, an African child who has HIV can often be helped with as little as $1 a day. With the proper medication and treatment, AIDS-infected adults can also live longer, fuller lives.
KCA uses 100% of donations for its cause.
partnered with Seattle-based Treemo (http://www.treemo.com) to launch the innovative “As I Am” contest, a mobile and web contest to support the KCA charity. The contest directly benefits KCA as Treemo will donate $1 to the cause for every unique user who enters the “As I Am” contest, up to $10,000.

I can’t understand how we can fight an enemy when we won’t look at the direction it came from.
I think we are clear HIV was SIV in Chimpanzees, who were used for experiments in the 50’s.
I wish we could get to the source of this river of tears flowing from Africa.
Sending money is ok but we have to do better than that.
The money will run out for a lot of us.
The River by Ed Hooper.
