Cadbury Strikes Sweet Deal With Cocoa Farmers

British candy maker Cadbury has pledged to spend $2 million dollars on a project to aid the Ghana cocoa farmers who supply Cadbury with most of its cocoa. Â As Marketplace reported this morning, Cadbury’s goal is to “teach the farmers how to get more beans from their trees, and how to grow compatible crops to get more income.” Mo’ money, mo’ chocolate”now there’s a win-win proposition. If only Cadbury would go fair trade, now, that would be really sweet.
