Sure, Prince Charles may seem kinda wooden, but maybe that’s why he has such an affinity for trees. Norwegian officials announced today that the Prince of Wales has offered to team up with Norway to save forests all over the world, according to Reuters.Norway declared its intention earlier this month to fund a massive initiative to prevent deforestation in developing countries. The announcement inspired Charles, who believes that preserving the world’s rainforests is key to combating global warming, to propose that representatives of his Rainforests Project should travel to Norway to discuss ways to collaborate.Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the royal offer, noting that Norway “is willing to work with all who want to put systems and regulations in place to halt deforestation.” Too bad our own Commander in Chief is too busy clearing his Crawford brush to help combat the clear cutting of the world’s endangered rainforests. For more on how to save the rainforests, visit the Rainforest Alliance’s website.
