Exclusive: The Good Life, With Yogi Gurmukh

Is it any surprise that the Kundalini guru is obsessed with kindness?

If you can downward dog without a wince, you know the name Gurmukh. The ever-turbaned yogi and founder of the famed bicoastal Golden Bridge studio has a following that would make Mitt Romney envious. Gurmukh also devotes her time to helping orphanages in India, Tibet and Mexico. She took a deep breath and answered our questions with brevity:

My favorite place in the world is… Wherever I am.

If I could change the world, I would start with… Myself.

My last random act of kindness was… Hugging a student at Golden Bridge.

My favorite green product is… Green, chewy veggie-bones for my dogs.

It would be easier to be green if only… I committed 100 percent to it all the time, wherever I'm at in the world.

GurmukhRight now I’m addicted to… Kindness.

Right now I’m avoiding… Arguing.

My superhero power would be… To be unendingly energized.

Our next President should focus on… The power of kindness.

My eco rule of thumb is… Eating whole, organic, live, locally grown foods.

My last eco faux pas was… [silence]

Next on my life to-do list is… Passing no judgments on anyone or anything.

The Good Life is TakePart’s weekly probe into the mind of a fascinating person.
