Talk Sh*t With Matt Damon (VIDEO)

How the toilet has saved more lives than any other invention.
Talk Sh*t With Matt Damon (VIDEO)

Matt Damon wants to talk shit with you.

Seriously. Matt Damon wants to talk about diarrhea. And toilets. And fecal matter.

No, 2007's Sexiest Man Alive hasn't suddenly regressed into an 11-year-old boy who likes bathroom humor.

Saturday is World Toilet Day, and the sad fact is that around the world, more people have a mobile phone than a toilet. That's not a laugh line for 4th grade boys. It's a serious public health problem.

Toilets save lives. Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death of children under five around the world.

Toilets are key to preventing life-threatening infections in the developing world where, according to toiletday.org, children in poor environments often carry 1,000 parasitic worms in their bodies at any given time.

If all that talk about shit, diarrhea and toilets above didn't gross you out, maybe the the thought of 1,000 parasitic worms swimming around your body did the trick.

And all of this is preventable.

Log on to toiletday.org to see how you can talk shit with Matt Damon all week on Facebook and Twitter and help raise awareness of World Toilet Day. You can also learn more about the global sanitation crisis, and how a toilet can help change a young girl's life.

Because as they put it: it's time to cut the crap and start helping.
