Grace Potter is such a big fan of fair trade products that she’s gonna sing about it. For free.

Potter and her band The Nocturnals will play an exclusive live show on the Green Mountain Coffee Facebook page starting at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 20.

“Partnering with Green Mountain Coffee is a great way for us to reach a larger audience about the positive impact people can have by supporting fair trade,” said Potter in announcing the concert. “There’s no better time than now for people to make the switch and look for the Fair Trade Certified label on the products they buy. It seems like a small thing, but together, we can make a difference in the quality of life for farmers around the world.”

During the show, Potter and musician Michael Franti will share their own reasons for shopping fair trade, and tell you why your should too. So what is “fair trade”?

According to Fair Trade USA:

For consumers, Fair Trade offers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping. For farmers and workers in developing countries, Fair Trade offers better prices, improved terms of trade, and the business skills necessary to produce high-quality products that can compete in the global marketplace. Through vibrant trade, farmers and workers can improve their lives and plan for their futures. Today, Fair Trade benefits more than 1.2 million farming families in 70 developing countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Don’t miss Grace Potter and The Nocturnals’ exclusive show, live on Facebook, tomorrow.
