Save Darfur
Students across the country are joining together to help the people of Darfur. Young people have historically played a leading role in the fight for social justice; and the movement to end the genocide in Darfur has been no different.
Well before most of the international community was even talking about the crisis in Darfur, students were taking action by:
- Demanding that their universities' endowments divest from companies doing business with the genocidal government in Sudan
- Lobbying elected officials and President Bush to provide additional assistance to displaced Darfuri refugees
- Fundraising for relief assistance for refugees in Darfur and Chad
- Writing editorials and letters to the editor for campus and local newspapers about the genocide and the need for the international community to take greater action to end the violence
