The California Public Utilities Commission voted unanimously today to regulate ridesharing services like Lyft and Uber, making California the first state in the country to do so. The popular smartphone apps connect passengers to local drivers, as an alternate to taxis. KPCC business reporter Ben Bergman and comedian Yassir Lester join our panel tonight to discuss the implications of regulation.
K9 Assistance Services’ dog trainers Jeremy Talamantas and Stephanie O’Brien (and one of their furry friends!) join us on the show.
Meanwhile, cardstacker Scott Dyer will be on set building a tower out of playing cards. We’ll chat with him about some of his unbelievably intricate creations!
We’ll also take a break from national headlines for a new segment, Locally Grown. Tonight’s local news includes a very long (36-letter long) win at the DMV and herpes infested monkeys… Yeah.
All that, plus a trip to Newsville and lots more on TakePartLive, tonight 12am ET/9pm PT on Pivot!
