Michigan State representatives Lisa Brown and Barb Byrum were blocked from addressing the state’s legislature Thursday for failure “to maintain the decorum of the House of Representatives.”
Brown used the word vagina during a debate on reproductive rights, and Byrum defended her colleague’s right to employ an “anatomically, medically correct term.”
Thanks to the ACLU for “Vagina. Can’t Say It? Don’t Legislate It.”
And thanks to Planned Parenthood for “It’s just unacceptable to silence women when we’re talking about reproductive rights.”
