SNL’s Take on Processed Food—Almost Pizza (VIDEO)

‘Pizza that’s practically pizza in every way, except for a few key ones.’
Apr 9, 2012

It’s hard to imagine a time before we had convenience foods like frozen pizza. They’ve made life easier (and tastier) for many people, but at what cost? It’s almost too easy to pop a meal into the microwave without thinking twice about what’s in it or where it came from.

As hilarious as this parody ad from Saturday Night Live is, how far away are we from food we can’t even call food? Your average supermarket frozen pizza may not have the ability to shatter like glass then reconstitute itself into a moving creature, but it probably has some ingredients you don’t recognize.

Next time you’re at home and need a snack to go with your late-night comedy, try making your own pizza with ingredients you can pronounce. You can even save the leftovers without fear they’ll come to life in your refrigerator.
