Clip of the Day: Community Pitches in to Shoe America’s Tallest Man

Igor Vovkivinsky finds a little help obtaining costly size-26 shoes.

Igor Vovkivinskiy's quest for larger-than-life shoes is on its way to a happy ending. Since this clip aired on his local CBS affiliate, WCCO 4, he has raised more than enough to buy the custom shoes he so desperately needs. Over 1,300 people have contributed to his fundraising site, and with his curent total of $38,000, he has more than doubled the $16,000 he needs to fly to Reebok's headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts, and have his shoes made.

Igor updated his fundraising page yesterday to let readers know that he is now making calls and beginning the process of getting his new shoes made. In the meantime, he is balancing finishing his paralegal degree and keeping up with his digital thank yous.

It seems that the power of generosity has affected Igor in more ways than just getting the shoes he needs. After sharing another GoFundMe user's fundraising page, Igor posted on his Facebook group, "Maybe this can be my thing now, that I can help others bring attention to their causes. I feel like the blessing that I recieved is something everybody could experience."
