If you're reading this, you're likely sitting at a computer or in front of your iPad. Now, how long have you been there?
It's no surprise that sitting at a desk for most of the day isn't the best thing for your body. So, if you're starting to feel your neck stiffen, or if you simply want to de-stress and reenergize, these apps will help you practice yoga wherever you choose—including right in your office chair.
The easy-to-use app from renowned teacher Darrin Zeer is a great way to de-stress in your cubicle. The useful guide for beginners or experts is filled with 75 stress-relieving stretches that include on-the-phone and at-the-copy machine stretches.
This is the most expensive of our favorite yoga apps, but it is well worth the price. The folks over at lululemon are also fans. They blogged about the app, saying it is a "great alternative when getting to a studio just isn’t an option." The app features customizable stretching and breathing exercises, a number of classes to choose from, and stop-motion visuals on how to get in—and out—of each posture. The voice-over instruction is from well-known instructor Prahlada Reddy.
This app brings together the wisdom and guidance of Deepak Chopra's teachings with the focused practice of Tara Stiles. It's especially suited for beginners, and one of the features we particularly love is how they divide the instruction. For example, you can choose to practice yoga for less stress, for tight hamstrings or for tight hips.
