A South Dakota lawmaker protesting against the Obama Administration's health care reform law has come up with a modest proposal: a bill that would require every adult in his state to own a firearm.

State Representative Hal Wick (R-Sioux Falls) doesn't like the health care reform mandate that all Americans purchase health insurance. He thinks he'll stick it to those liberal, socialist do-gooders by makin' 'em all pack heat.

Actually, Wick admits his bill is pure BS. He's only introduced it to make a statement, according to the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader:

“Do I or the other cosponsors believe that the State of South Dakota can require citizens to buy firearms? Of course not. But at the same time, we do not believe the federal government can order every citizen to buy health insurance,” he said.
