Tasty, or just kind of tragic? (Photo: Mario Anzuoni/Reuters)

It's not unusual to preserve and retire iconic celebrity garb. But when that garb has...um, food properties, it's liable to rot.

Clothing designer Franc Fernandez will be drying out Lady Gaga's famous MTV Video Music Awards dress—created over the course of three days from slabs of meat—and turning it into jerky, reports People.

The 50 pounds of animal flesh will be stored as jerky and preserved for posterity.
